ive heard that some hifi stores do a nice little trick to some of there speakers, my understanding is they place a cap/resistior between the amp and speakers x-over.
what is the tweak?
how well does it work\what does is do exactly?
can someone help me to do this to my pioneere 8" fullrangers/paradyme tweets(in a diy carfea little big horn)?
and of course maybe my rt800i's...
thx to all

Many stores use potentiometers (or "pots") in line to speakers. These variable resistors allow easy volume matching of speakers of different sensitivities for A-B auditioning.
Only such use I am aware of, but is not a tweak and would serve no purpose in a home system.More later,

What you are describing sounds like it may be a Zobel. They are often used to smoth out impedences in speakers, but many speakers have one in the crossover already.
Do a google on "zobel, zobel network, or zobel filter" and see what you can come up with. The single driver forum may also have good info.Make it Funky! -
