Rti10 wiring question

Hello :)

I'm slowly building up my system and recently bought a new set of Rti10's, a Tsx center (it doesn't match but sounds good enough for me for now) and yesterday i ordered a pair of fxi a6 for my rears which wont arrive for another week or so.

My next purchase down the road will probably be a new receiver, possibly a Pioneer elite.

Right now I'm running a Samsung HT-D6730W 7.1 receiver but i get very little bass. So my question is.. is it possible to remove the gold bridges on my rti-10's and run the top of the speakers from the normal left and right channels but split the passive sub out wire and run it to the woofers on the rti10's? so basically the 4 7" woofers would be the sub instead of the garbage samsung sub. then turning the subwoofer up or down in the samsungs menu could control the bass level.

I just don't want to hurt anything so I wont try this without hearing from you all.

A couple of years ago i decided i wanted to go for a minimalist look and went with that used samsung all in one system with the skinny tower speakers and all that. without realizing that by doing that it started to slowly kill music for me because it sounded so horrible and i love music.

Then i bought these rti10 speakers and i find myself just staring at the wall with a big grin on my face when i listen to anything. They are amazing and I'm hooked on Polk Audio for life.

Thanks :)

No, it doesn't work like that.

Ok I won't be trying that then. Now I'll start looking for another receiver.

Now I'm looking to buy possibly a DSWPRO660wi subwoofer but i have a question about it. since my current receiver has no low level sub out i see this sub has a speaker in and out that you can use instead of a subwoofer cable. I'm guessing that would mean that my left/right channel front speakers would plug into this and i would run wires from my left/right channels of my receiver into the speaker inputs of the sub. is this correct? and if it is correct wouldn't my receiver be putting a lot of power into those inputs on the sub?

I guess i don't really understand how that works yet but I'm trying. If someone wants to give a detailed answer that would be great but anything is fine.

Also is there any reason to choose one of the micro subs over this larger one if i have enough room to have the bigger one? I do plan on going with a better receiver but I might be getting one for Christmas so I'm going to keep working on speakers until then.

As usual thanks for the info :)

There are instructions that come with the sub explaining how to set that up. You are not using any power from the AVR to drive the sub, it has an internal filter and uses its built in amp.

The DSWPro is designed mainly for HT use while the DSWMicroPro is geared more towards music.
