Wanting to try something new

Can one of you smart fellows point me in a direction to pick up some wire by the foot to make some IC's? I am tired of scanning through eBay for it. I have some Cat6 teflon coated I also want to try for fun just looking for some other better wire to try. My plan for the cat6 is to take 6 twisted pairs braid. I thought about 3ea for + and ground.
Nothing coaxial please unless it is a siamese pair of twisted of some sort like right and left but still not coax type.

For unbalanced RCA interconnects, nothing beats coax. Make that coax with a heavy braided shield.

Already make my own using Canare L-5CFB and Canare RCA's. But there is better ways than just coax. -

I disagree with this statement. I've made several RCA phono interconnects, and those made with coax sounded lifeless to me compared to those made with OF copper or pure silver 30 gauge Teflon insulated wire in a litz braid. I've tried all copper, copper and silver, and all silver combinations. They all surpassed the coax in SQ in my system. Even my wife could hear the difference! The only place I use shielding is between the turntable and the preamp because the RF noise is amplified otherwise, but I run the conductors through silicone tubing to space them away from the braided copper shielding and thus reduce capacitive coupling. A couple months ago there was a thread started by "Pepster" a former CP member who suggested a few low cost DIY braided interconnect designs. Here is the link:

big help newbie that is just what i was looking for .....
keep it coming -
Have you looked at Doug's inventory? Might have some that will fit the bill.
He's got some Furex stuff that is IIRC slightly different than the Canare stuff, but I could be wrong.
This is where it would be nice to have the Pepster around still."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." William Bruce Cameron, Informal Sociology: A Casual Introduction to Sociological Thinking (1963) -

I'll hit him up. While I do want some stranded I was hoping for more for solid wire. Might also try some of this magnet wire that was also in pepsters link -

true I tried and tried to pry some info from him, but he was not getting off it
and yes now is the time when I would need him to say go here and here for wire good deals -

It is cheap enough, but typically plated wire makes for yucky SQ! Remember that HF runs on the surface of the wire, while lower frequency runs closer to the core. Plating is usually done for corrosion resistance, but not desirable for audio. Look for Oxygen free long grain solid Copper wire to attain the best results. You don't want nickel plated plugs either! This is something that I used with great success:

I was joking about the space station wire.....though it might give out of this world sound
Its actually the first time I had seen OR heard of nickel coated wire....I might give some if his silver plated OFC wire a try it's cheap enough to try. -
Ivan, just remember whatever you do, make sure to incorporate crystals, coconut pulp and unicorn dust when you make them."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." OH YEA almost forgot all that good to go stuff.....
I tried over the weekend to make some shotgun cables but couldn't get the gun to cooperate ....anybody have a spare eye patch?
