DCM TF 500 's rebuild

Picked up a pair and need to find an original VIFA D-19TD-07 8 ohm tweeter. If anyone has one stashed away I would like to hear about it. Thanks! :-)

Check Parts Express, also you see replacement Timeframe tweeters on eBay quite a bit. I believe they are 3/4". Actually these are the ones you want mash here:

Parts exp has one marked (_05) but cant give me any info on the diff if any??? They just seem to not have any asnwers.and kept trying to switch me to other tweets. I will have to ck out the bay I guess ( Ihate the bay) thanks all but would still find an original.

The one's on the bay say they are 5+ ohms mine are clearly marked 8 ohms. confused! Does this guy not know what he has? Or is the tf 350 tweets a little diff from the tf500's?

Soundfreak,Good luck to you, as an owner of TF 350s I have been told that these are one of the hardest PINTA speakers to work on. Being both sock style and then w/ a nasty headliner material behind that.Thankfully mine were resocked and refoamed before I bought them ,I hope your a handy guy and again good luck w/ your project.Sorry can't help technically but I was amazed at the sound coming from such a wacky designed speaker and again mine are even a model below yours.

These are marked 8 ohm .The seller likely just tested DC resistance (with uncalibrated DMM)which usually measures an ohm or two less than the rated nominal AC impedance,which of course varies with frequency.

To the OP. I would prob jump on these. I have many vintage DCM speakers but unfortunately not the 350 or the 500. If I did i would pull the tweets to verify they are same or not for you. From past research I would believe them to be the same but am not 100% sure on that. however vintage DCM , like Polk, famously used the same components in various models. I'll keep watching them too. If you don't get them I may pick them up as spares for my 1000's.
