Just bought a carver c11 pre off ebay, says it had been cleaned and checked by a shop, looks very clean, asked what cleaner they used, he said blue shower.

I never heard of it, looked up a lot of good reviews, however their newer g3 spray had one forum discussing it melting plastic in switches and ruining some stuff.

Was thinking of using a little deoxit gold on switches, etc., just didnt want to mix if possibly hazardous.

Never heard of it Scott. I'd use caution based on the reviews around anything plastic. Personally deoxit works so why take a chance.

I've used Blue Shower in the past with no problems, many audio repair shops use it. You should be fine.

I'd use Caig's POT cleaner if anything on my C11. You could use the Gold on the RCA's.

Used to use it years and years ago (more accurately, my father used it in his business as a repair-person) - I use CAIG products now because they do seem to work the best of the stuff currently available on the "tough dogs" (to use the old TV service-person patois - or, probably more accurately, argot).

FWIW, I was sold on the performance of CAIG's DeOxit when it rescued the perennially recalcitrant function selector switch on my McIntosh C-28. None of the other contact cleaners I'd tried (and there were a couple) did the trick.

I found some Blue Shower among my stuff this afternoon. Sprayed some on my hand. Dried and nothing there after about 20 sec or so. Leaves nothing for the pot to work with for a lubricant. Would clean but won't leave a lubricant at all behind. So you would really need to follow with something else.
