Spikes on Carpet, Should I use it ?
I have LSi15 and they are not much stable on carpet so I used Spikes. Now they are stable but they are almost cutting through the carpet to the floor.
I am sacred that I am going to damage the carpet.
Advise ?
1. Whether I should use them or not ?
2. If yes, how do I take care of carpet issue.
3. Should place a hard woodden board underthe speaker so the spikes are on the that board but that will make them unstable again, if my guess is right.
Thanks in advance !

They are supposed to go through the carpet into the subfloor. They shouldn't cause any damage as they are just poking a hole through the carpet and pad. The only thing I'd be careful about is when you move them, lift, don't slide. If you try to "scootch" them around it could snag the carpet. I think a board under would defeat the purpose. If you are really concerned, you might try some kind of cement or marble (or whatever) slabs underneath like some guys use to isolate their subs and use the rubber feet on top of the spikes. I'm using carpet spikes on my system, and they are helluva lot more stable now. I don't think they are damaging my carpet. If anything, they might be puncturing holes in the carpet pad....but thats the extent. Good luck!Home Speakers polkaudio RTi70's (bi-wired), CSi30, FX3000i, PSW250

I think Ken nailed it. Spike 'em to the sub floor.More later,
