Anyone ever heard of glueing another magnet to top of existing magnet? There was another magnet attached to top of magnet? Bought this single hopeing I could use the driver with my M7a's . I need a MW6500 or MW6503. Unfortunately this is a MW6502 4ohm. Oh well . I can sell the tweet and driver on Ebay. Thanks. D Photo option not available now?

Just wondering if anyone has ever heard of glueing a magnet on top of the drivers magnet? Pulled the driver out of a Monitor 4 I just bought and discovered this phenomenon? Thanks. D

It's called a bucking magnet and its purpose is to minimize the magnetic field making the speakers safe to use near older CRT TV's. It was a very common practice in days past. In fact, Polk use to sell the magnets.

That's the definition of a "Video Ready" speaker. All they do is add the bucking magnet to the system.

egg-zack-a-tackly as the previous two posters have indicated. I reckon it does alter the T/S parameters of the driver, though... which may have some audible impact on performance.

It's very slight and some say they are better with the bucking magnets attached.
