Anybody pick this new disc up? I think it's freaking awesome. Really shows his range and versatility. Amazing that he still has the pipes at 65...

1- Winding down- Cool track with Taj Mahal on background vocals

2- Not going down- With Bill Church and Denny Carmassi. Sounds like old Montrose

3-Personal Jesus- Depeche Mode cover. Cool version, Neal Schon, Michael Anthony, Chad Smith...

4-Father Son- Definitely a different sound

5- Knockdown Dragout- Serious rocker. Kid Rock on board (not a huge fan of his but pretty cool). Satriani solo is killer.

6- Ramblin' Gamblin" Man- Great cover of the classic Bob Seger tune

7- Bad on Fords and Chevrolets- Gettin' a bit country with Ronnie Dunn

8- Margaritaville- Cover off the classic Jimmy Buffet party tune with Toby Keith

9- All We Need Is An Island- Really cool song, Nancy Wilson (Heart) on background vocals and Mickey Hart on percussion

10- Going Down- Rocking cover with Neil Schon, MA and CS

11- Space Station #5- Live from the Ronnie Montrose Tribute with Denny Carmassi, Bill Church and Satriani taking on the guitar.

If you're a fan of any of this it's definitely worth a pick up!!

Why don't these guys get back together let Sach play with, Montrose was a great band. I like Sammy better then than any Sammy for the past 30 years. I might just have to give this listen because of the songs with Bill, and Denny.

If you want just Bill and Denny you may be disappointed. This covers many genres... Personally I really like it, YMMV.

Sammy is one cool dude! He is one of the only people I ever saw stand up to Howard Stern and ask him why he degraded women (including his then wife) on his show. Seems like everyone back then was afraid of Stern for some reason. That and the fact he knows how to rock.

Just listened to 'I Can't Drive 55' earlier - one of my faves of all time.

Really like the Red Rocker, might have to give this new one a listen!

    Thanks Ken.

I even like Margaritaville, call me a fan boy if you must. What impresses me most about Sammy these days is that he's not some old aging rocker coming out of retirement to make his mortgage payment. He's got more $$ than God, with all of his royalties, selling a majority stake in the Cabo Wabo Tequila business for a reported $100M, etc. Just keeps reinventing himself with new music. Chickenfoot (IMO) is stellar, this just keeps moving it on. As a big rum fan, looking to try his new offering...

Just ordered it. Thanks. I love Space Station #5. After Ronnie Montrose passed away I bought his self titled album (CD) since I hadn't listened to it since I gave away my turntable and albums in the early 80s.
