If that's a 70's Pioneer PL-35D table, with working remote, I might be tempted to grab it.

Yes its a A35D with remote (which has never been removed from original pkg) he says player is mint. So i'll check it out. Was going to go tonight but too late/so tomorrow it is.. Thanks again..

The only reason I said that, was because I can't recall any turntables with remotes. Especially those PL-35D or A350 models. Have him demonstrate the remote control before you buy it.
Something isn't anywhere near right about this. -

Not a PL-35D, but heck, yeah, there were turntables with remotes.
In modern terms, the daddy of 'em all (this one is the Heathkit morph)...

I also think I remember :-) that during the late days of massmarket turntables - when the programmable, linear trackers predominated the market - there were (probably) some with remote controls.
Kind of goofy, but there's always been a kind of goofy element in hifi marketing (and there still is)...
