For sale is a used 2m Tara Labs Special AC power cable. This cable is in excellent condition and does as advertised. I bought this cable from TonyB who bought it from headrott in this thread (http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?144769-Tara-Labs-Prism-Special-AC-Power-Cord-%2815-Amp%29&highlight=tara)

Looking for 50 dollars + shipping. Payment via PayPal preferred. This cable retailed for 200 dollars and still looks as good as the day it was purchased. Item will shipped insured and packaged well.

Information from the manufacture site is below:
____________________________________________________________

Your standards are high. You have a lot invested in your audio system. TARA Labs has created the only cables that can satisfy your need to own the very best: Prism Series speaker cables and interconnects.

The job of an audio cable is to transfer a signal from one stereo component to another. It sounds simple, but many cables degrade or modify the signal due to poor design or inadequate materials.

Although not expensive, TARA Labs' Prism Series cables use the very best materials and engineering. Prism Cables are constructed using the same materials and techniques as our more expensive cables.

We start with TARA Labs' exclusive "Optimized Bandwidth"TM solid core conductors. The "super-annealed" high purity copper and Aero-PETM insulation are the same used in out top of the line cables. This unique construction conveys a sense of musical balance and immediacy that stranded or braided cables just can't match.

All materials, from the gold RCA plugs to the lead-free silver solder, are chosen for maximum performance and long life. Prism cables are hand-assembled and each is individually tested at our factory in Oregon.

    Dan,

What gauge wire is this? More suited to source components or amps? Looking to try something different on my Aragon power amp.

    Thanks.

Well I purchased it to use on my Carver M1.0t (currently awaiting repairs), and used it briefly on my APC H15 as well. I am not sure what gauge it is, but its thicker than the powercable I had from Pepster, I would ballpark 10 or 12 perhaps, but will see if I can get an exact measurement.

I would assume its fine for amps, just keep in mind its a 15amp cable if that makes a difference on your amp.

I can post a pic of it compared to your average powercable if you want.

Just remembered that I built my current Asylum power cord without the ground connected because I was getting ground loop hum that I couldn't remedy any other way. But I've since changed around a lot of my system so I'll have to investigate if the problem has gone away. Bottom line is don't hold this for me. I won't have a chance to check things out before next week.

I want something that grips a little better than the Schurter IEC

It fits decently tight, but everyone's definition of "tight" is different (pun not intended, but oh well ), and not all IEC plugs are equal.

Here is a video of me plugging it into the 3 IEC's I have in my office setup (Audio GD NFB-5, Carver M1.0t aftermarket IEC, Parasound 700ii). There is some give left, right, up and down.

Its also a fairly thick cable, as shown by the next pics

We will put it this way. If it doesnt sell I am sure I can find a good place for it, like with my Sunfire TGP-II pre-amp in my 2 channel system.

I own a pair of the Encore II's. they are good IC's, not at the same level as say Shotgun S3 but they are good. I use them for my Teac X-2000R deck (for playback).

Can you post your thoughts on where they lie in terms of Kimber Hero, PBJ, Audioquest G-Snakes and/or Dougs cables in this thread:

We are playing thread tag! I just posted in your other thread that I would compare them to midrange Kimbers. I have not heard the Audioquest G-snakes so I cannot compare to those.
