The RT3000 satellite is a sealed enclosure and has higher power handling. The sealed enclosure should produce cleaner mids and highs at the expense of less bass output (which you shouldn't need if you're buying the subwoofer portion of the RT3000's).

Also worth mentioning that the RT3000 satellite has a fixed 80Hz high pass crossover.

Really not trying to pick a fight here, but the higher power rating is most likely a result of the fixed 80hz high pass crossover.
If the drivers don't have to produce the low fq, it would make me think they can seal up the cabinet and raise the power rating.
I would like to know if I am right on this, this has come up before that the 3000 sat is made of better drivers and such, does anyone have a pair? are the drivers different that the ones in the RT55's?Dodd - Battery Preamp
Monarchy Audio SE100 Delux - mono power amps
Sony DVP-NS999ES - SACD player
ADS 1230 - Polk SDA 2B
DIY Stereo Subwoofer towers w/(4) 12 drivers each
Crown K1 - Subwoofer amp
Outlaw ICBM - crossover
Beringher BFD - sub eq
Where is the remote? Where is the $%#$% remote!

RT3000 drivers are black. RT55i drivers are blue.
They are visually different. I believe the RT3000 driver is a little bit more tweaked.
