We have tix for the 18 Oct show @ The Midland in KC, MO. A venue we've never been to.
Was wondering what the opinion has been on the band Bonnie's put together for Slipstream.
I've followed Mike Finnigan, a Kansas boy, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Finnigan since ~ 1970, w/Finnigan & Wood. Saw him w/Phantom Blues Band here in Manhattan a few years back. He was amazed at the condition of the Crazed Hipsters LP I asked him to autograph!
Have seen Raitt twice: 1975, Wichita, & early 80s in St. Louis. Been a groupie now for 38 years.

I became a Bonnie Raitt fan about 5-6 years ago. Don't know anything about the Slipstream tour, but I have the CD and it's really good. The recording, playing and songwriting are top notch.

One of her recording and touring band members, Will McFarlane, lived around here for a while and used to regularly attend blues jams. A monster player with amazing musical taste and chops."Science is suppose to explain observations not dismiss them as impossible" - Norm on AA; 2.3TL's w/sonicaps/mills/jantzen inductors, Gimpod's boards, Lg Solen SDA inductors, RD-0198's, MW's dynamatted, Armaflex speaker gaskets, H-nuts, brass spikes, Cardas CCGR BP's, upgraded IC Cable, Black Hole Damping Sheet strips, interior of cabinets sealed with Loctite Power Grab, AI-1 interface with 1000VA A-L transformer -
THANX for sharing your thoughts on Slipstream! While listening yesterday, I read Will McFarlane's bio. I see he's been in the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section.
Maybe I've jumped the gun on feedback for the Slipstream tour, which was in the UK until recently:
8/22/13 Costa Mesa, CA; Pacific Amphitheatre/Wavelength Festival (Special Guest Keb' Mo')
I need to explore Keb' Mo', as I've seen kudos here on CP. -

Rumor around here has it that he moved back to Alabama to be a part of that again."Science is suppose to explain observations not dismiss them as impossible" - Norm on AA; 2.3TL's w/sonicaps/mills/jantzen inductors, Gimpod's boards, Lg Solen SDA inductors, RD-0198's, MW's dynamatted, Armaflex speaker gaskets, H-nuts, brass spikes, Cardas CCGR BP's, upgraded IC Cable, Black Hole Damping Sheet strips, interior of cabinets sealed with Loctite Power Grab, AI-1 interface with 1000VA A-L transformer -

At the age of 60, I was surprised at all the elderly in attendance @ The Midland. The concert was great, the encore especially.
As we checked into the Hotel Phillips, keyboardist Mike Finnigan was there at the desk & I spoke with him for several minutes. He tells me he was originally from Ohio & came to KS to attend KU. I'm likely to promptly forget that fact.
Per Marc Cohn, the opener, they all dined @ the Philips, unfortunately we had reservations @ the Bristol Seafood Grill.
We nearly didn't make the trip, as it was snowing hard before we left Manhattan. Had there been any wind (in KS?), my wife would've turned the Xterra around. Great 30th Anniversary present to ourselves. -

That would be people older than we."Science is suppose to explain observations not dismiss them as impossible" - Norm on AA; 2.3TL's w/sonicaps/mills/jantzen inductors, Gimpod's boards, Lg Solen SDA inductors, RD-0198's, MW's dynamatted, Armaflex speaker gaskets, H-nuts, brass spikes, Cardas CCGR BP's, upgraded IC Cable, Black Hole Damping Sheet strips, interior of cabinets sealed with Loctite Power Grab, AI-1 interface with 1000VA A-L transformer -
