Club polk hacked.

I was on the net for a few hour yesterday looking at this and that and decided to come home(here) to see what has been up with the polkies. I opened a few threads in a couple tabs and went back to one I had opened before I came here. Now mind you I had been online for at least 3 hours before heading here, but with in a bout five minutes after logging in, the pointer was moving across the screen and clicking on stuff on it's own. I tried to move to the start button to shut down the computer as everything on the screen became highlighted ( someone clicking on a mouse while I was moving the pointer). Held the power button down to stop the intrusion, rebooted ans ran a virus scan which found nothing. After I rebooted, I restored my previous browsing session, but closed out polk and had no problems after that in the following3 hours online. I still see no widescreen option at the bottom of the page. Are we still under attack here?

    Hello dude,
I don't think there's a problem, but I've sent your posting to Polk's IT department to be sure.
    Thanks, Ken

Response from the head of IT:

    "Ken.

We have no reason to believe that the site has been compromised again. We will work on the "widescreen" complaint after the vBulletin upgrade has been completed."

At the very least, these hackers should leave us with something to look at other than junk. Like funny Chinese commercials, a Hooters try out video, PFB driving his Porsche with a red scarf and skinny jeans......somethin', don't leave us hanging the whole weekend.

    Thanks Ken.
Just found it kind of odd that it happened after logging in here, and no problems before, or after.

Let me ask you this. What virus scanner did you use? Just because it turned up clean does not mean anything at all. Sounds like someone was remote into your computer and controlling it there self. Read up on not nets and root kits wile your at it.

Is your copy of your OS legit or a copy you downloaded or maybe a friend installed for you.

What OS are you running is it patched what kind of sites to you goto as all of that cab effect things too. To be honest a virus scanner may help a bit but will not do much of anything if someone rooted a piece of your hardware as removal if it even could find the issue would take out your computer.
    Absolute corruption empowers absolutely.

I used avast for a scan, didn't even think to run a root kit scan. I'm running a legit copy of windows 7. Avast is usually pretty good at catching things on the fly, but no anti virus is 100% up to catching everything. As far as sites go...we won't even go there.;p

This site still has a major problem with iPads. I have to shut my iPad down after visiting this site if I want to respond to a post. Otherwise it really slows the iPad down and screws up the keyboard. Both AudioAficianado and Audio Shark use the the same forum software, and both work fine. Only this site has the problem. Maybe they need to upgrade their Ethernet cables.

This isn't the only site with problems in the last couple of weeks.

Regardless, I wish they'd make the wood background into plain black or something for the time being...
