In that range you should be able to find something used with pre outs, if your dropping 500 I would pass.

It sounds like you're on a budget, but, personally, I wouldn't go any lower on the Denon food chain than the 3313. I have an OLD AVR 2807 that I've run with a set of TSI-300s that I will eventually use for 7.1 when I have the space. And that Denon has just about the "right" amount of OOOMPH for those Polks.

Denon really cheapened the newer receivers in my opinion. Really entry level and it shows. I bought a 1913 and found this to be true to the point where I went to a marantz 6007 orig $1200 and got it for $800. Much better IMO
