Is it salvagable???
Hello group. I have an MW6502 midrange that seems to be completely frozen. When I try to push it in, is does not budge. The speaker itself (surround, cone, etc) all seems in good shape. I am wondering what, if anything can be done to get it back in good working order. I have given up waiting for a replacement speaker to become available (waiting since April of 2003). Any input would be really appreciated!

Seized driver is as good as dead. You're better off buying a replacement and movin on. What model speaker is that for?comment comment comment comment. bitchy.

brett,
boy! that was quick!! thanks a bunch. the speakers are small monitor bookshelf speakers. i'm not sure of the model number. -
I assume that you got the information on the replacements taking a while from Polk's CS department? Even so, I'd call and talk to Ken Swuager in CS and as for an ETA on the drivers being back in stock. If they still have drivers for speakers that are 10+ years old, they should still have yours, or at least a compatible version of it.comment comment comment comment. bitchy.
