Here it goes again...

for some reason i couldn't yet jump on Amp...

Basically i want to upgrade and be done with it for a long time ...as i reason i went with LSIM instead of RTI's

wanted to make sure i get a decent amp which is musically oriented ....you guys were great in helping me out with the suggestions unfortunately i am still in process completing my purchase

Currently i am looking on to this

1) Parasound A51
2) Rotel 1555
3) NAD M25
4) Rotel 1585,
5) B&k 2005, 200.7

One of the authorized dealer for parasound offered me 25% off brand new A51 MSRP 4500$ Sale 3375$, is the price good? what is the general discount offered.

Sorry if i am bothering you guys with too many questions and threads.... Unfortunately this amp thing is little to huge for me to comprehend.

As always i appreciate your time in responding and greatly thankful for your help and suggestions.

Out of your list and if I was looking for a 5 channel amp, the A51 would be my pick. I couldn't say about the price as I haven't looked for one. You might try looking around the net to see what others are selling them for.

Look at a Sunfire TGA-7401. One can be found in your price range and will tap-dance all over most of the amps on your list, provide you with seven channels at 400wpc and be flexible enough to bi-amp from the same unit. They will double down on power into a 4 ohm load, and are probably the most musical of any HT am I have ever owned. Just about everyone that owns one of these, or the earlier Signature versions swears by them and would never think of parting with one.

Look at a Sunfire .. seven channels at 400wpc http://www.sunfire.com/productdetail.asp?id=3

After being a member here and reading around .... i have talked myself out of spec/number biased decisions
    ...
havent considered sunfire until now .... honestly i dont know much about sunfire but if i am not wrong Parasound Halo should still sound better than this right?

couldnt find detail specification of Sunfire is it more like a entry amp like emotiva or is it well regarded for quality and SQ in Audiophile community?

I have the Sunfire TGA5400 in my HT, and I have no problem at all with its sound quality when I listen to music. Maybe the other amps are better, but if so it will not be by much.

I had the opportunity to compare the big Halo to the Sunfire Sig at a friends house. He sold the Halo and got the Sunfire.

The Halo and Sunfire were near equals but the Sunfire was a tad more friendly musically.

Oops .....damn..... looks like i am back to square to one

unfortunately i cannot do any A/B comparisons none of friends and colleagues are into this thing... i have to largely rely on Dealers and online reviews to get some idea.

But thanks for that post though... greatly appreciate.... do you mind letting me know what price did you paid for it?

Funny you should ask... I heard the Parasound and Sunfire on the 707's, and it was a tossup, with the Sunfire being more musical to my ear. Both are excellent choices, but the Sunfire offers mor connectivity options, and more power.

In answer to your question, the Sunfire and LSiM would be as close to sonic bliss most will ever get imho

Hey, your in Jersey...are there still a lot of shops out East? I remember ordering gear over the phone from shops advertised in the back of stereo mags waay back in 90's before I had internet. Are you near this place: http://www.talkofthetownvideo.com/home-audio/receivers-amplifiers-components/power-amplifier-and-preamplifier.html

They sell Anthem, Classe, Integra, Marantz, McIntosh, ROTEL, and SUNFIRE

I would check them out and go take a listen...especially if you are considering buying new. Hey, they might even let you bring in the 703's to pair with different amps for demo? Let YOUR ears decide. You never know?
