Wow! I'm glad I read this. I've got a pair of those Realistic Super Tweeters with the original instructions and the Realistic Level Controls. I didn't know they were worth keeping. I used to use them with my Optimus T-120 speakers, which had terrible built in tweeters. The foam surrounds finally rotted on the T-120s. I haven't decided if they are worth the trouble of fixing.

Which "supertweeter" is that? Is it the Foster (Fostex) 'bullet' horn - known in the US as 40-1310?

    See page 73 of http://www.radioshackcatalogs.com/catalogs/1979/

If so... that is actually a pretty good driver with - in fact - remarkably extended HF range (useable out to something like 40k)... i.e., it can be used, to some extent as an ultrasonic transducer :-) The stock R/S crossover needs to go, though.
Interestingly, Fostex still makes a version of that tweeter: http://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/bullet-tweeters/fostex-ft17h-horn-super-tweeter/

The Sony's a nice deck - ol' Sony always made nice tape decks (cassette and R2R)...

Yes it's the 1310 the box is open but it looks unused like old stock and the box just opened from old age, lol
The Sony tape deck is pretty cool all the lights work on the VU Meters and the eject button feels like its motorized or something when you press Eject it opens by making a ratcheting sound, sounds Cool.
The Electrohome is actually an 8 Track recorder it looks unused as there is still the original bubble wrap on the big AM antenna and he inside is completely dust free and looks Brand New, can't really find and info on it, it's made in Japan.
That and the Sanyo actually have decent phono outputs which is really the only reason I buy these old vintage units..

Does anyone know the difference between the 40-1310 and the 40-1310A?

if you ask me... basically none :-)
The mfg. country of the driver changed over the years - I'd opine they're all more or less the same - but many others will disagree.

There are about 10 guys in Dallas/FT. Worth that do nothing all day long but hit all the places you find this stuff.
They clean them up and dump them back on CL for $$$. 5-10 years ago I used to come across this stuff.
    Not any more.
