what is best method to clean tt stylus

What do people use to clean a tt stylus?

Since I recently got back into vinyl, I have been researching how to clean records and a stylus.
I bought a Spin Clean record cleaning machine a few weeks ago and that seems to work fine but I still haven't learned what is the best way to clean a stylus. There is a lot of advice online and it is confusing.

Has anyone tried the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser method to clean a stylus? Does that really work?
There are a lot of positive reviews about that method online.

What would you recommend to clean a stylus?

I am using a Thorens TD 160 tt and Shure M97xE cartridge.

Listed from the order of preference of what I would use for a clean needle, moving onto more serious products for a not so clean needle. Been using the Magic Eraser for years, it works great for day to day dust removal.

Thank you. That is very helpful. And I am glad to get confirmation that the Magic Eraser works well. I will definitely use it. I have a new stylus and I just want something to take off the daily dust that accumulates on the stylus from playing records. The little brush that came with the stylus really does not do too much.

How do you use the Magic Eraser? From what I have seen (there is a video online explaining this method), it seems like the best method is to cut a sliver of Magic Eraser and glue that to a piece of cardboard or a coin and then to place it on the platter (when it is not spinning off course) and, with the cue lever, merely raise and lower the stylus a few times into the Magic Eraser.

Is that how you use it? Or is there a better way to use it?

You are welcome pglbook. I didn't cut mine, I just use it as is and place the Magic Eraser straight up to the needle a couple of times, followed by a visual inspection. I haven't had any issues using it this way but if you have a shaky hand, you might want to do the arm drop.

I use the Bald guy as well as a carbon fibre brush..
Which I stroke gently from back to front or bottom to top..

I even went back to using my dust bug while playing records.

I cut the magic eraser thick enough to place it next to the platter and use the cueing arm to lower it on it.

Just a stylus brush here but I use it every side of every record I play and the stylus's stay clean.

+1, tried all the methods listed here and found this to result in best sound. I do dry brush after each play and wet clean every 3-4 sides.
