Always loved the landscaping and geography of Arizona. Looks nice.
I thought about trying to install something similar, but a gas one. Not sure if those exist.Polk Fronts: RTi A7's

You can leave a gap for your propane hose at the base, you'll need brick or something to set your gas ring up on, then bury it in lava rock, or whatever type "covering" you like. Firepit gas rings are pretty pricey though.
Do a yahoo search for firepit gas rings.Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2 -

Looks great. Always fun to enjoy the nice fall weather outside by the pit. With marshmallows & dogs. I did my-throw it together firepit last spring. Enjoy it alot. Attachment not found.in this very spot when we bought this house there was a big bush. So it made it easy to look like its always been there..

Very cool, the natural look. I love hanging out at the firepit in the fall/winter. Beer just taste better around a fire.Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2

Steve, That indeed looks like a very nice place to enjoy a few beers on a cool fall evening. Are you going to put any kind of grate in the bottom for air circulation?Home Theater

I made one out of an old truck rim. Torch the center out. Weld a grate to the bottom and feet on the side. The fire is up off the ground so it gets a lot of air and burns super hot.AVR: Onkyo Tx-NR808

If you look at about the 12 o'clock position of the photo, on the 1st row of blocks, you'll see a 6" air-circulation opening. I used the same design at my last house, it works very well. I like BIG fires, for the heat output, so I keep the sides low, and the pit large; this one is apprx 51" in diameter. We also like to cook in the dutch oven on these pits, so it needs to be be fairly big.Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2 -
Lookin good Steve!
Just a small caveat, check with local ordinances, there are many places that do not allow open fires of any kind; we ended up buying
a pre-fab metal fire pit that has a removable screen over the top ( my neighbor is an ex-chief in the local FD, he was kind enough to educate me).So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

I live in the land of the FREE, Arizona. Firepits are the norm around here, and legal. But I hear ya, precautions and common sense are always a good idea.Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2
