Concerned about timbre matching

I am running a CS400i with my RT1000P's(soon to be RT55's) and am worried that I should opt for the original CS400 instead to make sure it's seamless match. To my ears, it sounds fine. I am a little OCD so it's easy for me to get obsessive about this stuff. Are there any major differences between the two centers that would make getting the original CS400 worth it or should I stop worrying about it?

I think I read on here that there is no difference in sound, just appearance of the drivers (blue for the i version) and maybe the cabinet.

Believe or not, I have heard a difference between the RT1000P's and RT800i's. The highs on the RT800i's were way too rolled off for me to ever truly enjoy them. It almost sounded like they were covered with a sheet or something. The tweeters on my 1000's are more revealing. The CS400i matches the 1000's perfectly and I can't hear a difference in the highs. When I had it matched with my 800i's, which have long been sold, the 400i always seemed to put out clearer sound. Maybe the 800i's were not that great or could be that the 400i is a much better speaker. The system as it is currently, seems to be very well matched. Even the RT35's, which use the black silk dome tweeter, seem to integrate well with my fronts. That being said, why did Polk opt for the different tweeters in the 25 and 35?

    Dskip, pm sent.
