My room is about the same size. Works well for me. But that HK will need to be put to pasture. Not enough power for the RTi's.
-
Thanks!
looking at Denon 1913 would that work with the RTiS? -
Honestly not really, i'd recommend something with more power and preouts. Whats your budget? I'm sure we can help ya out.
-
Thanks
my budget around 5 or 6k what would you say for the Denon avr and could I use the quintet with some bigger front and a new center i like the 7,s but could go with less.

Take a look at Pioneer SC series if your looking at AVR's. Some good deals to be had on the used market.

I have the Klipsch H/D #500 smalls w/ the 8'' pwrd sub and think they are great for H/T.i think Quintets are a model higher( might be wrong)since timbre matching isn't a problem then for sure upgrade to a better avr w/ pre/outs for an extermal amp for use futher down the road and you will hear this a million times. As an owner I do not recommend Yamaha rx-v665/667 they have power issuses if you like your tunes and or music on the louder spectrum w/o that external amp.2chl- Adcom GFA- 555-Onkyo P-3150v pre/amp- JVC-QL-A200 tt- Denon 1940 ci cdp- Adcom GFS-6 -Modded '87 SDA 2Bs - Dynamat Ext.- BH-5- X-Overs VR-3, RDO-194 tweeters, Larry's Rings, Speakon/Neutrik I/C- Cherry stain tops Advent Maestros,Ohm model E

Not really sure if you're looking to improve the sound, or just a different sound. I would suggest you look into a different AVR before deciding to change everything. Not sure what manufacturers you like, but there is sound improvement from the entry level models to the high end ones.
It may be you're just lacking power, and adding a more robust AVR, possibly an amp, would solve the problem.
Just saying I would advise looking at speakers after electronics.
That being said, RTI A7's, CSI A6, FXI A6, and say a Pioneer SC 1522K could be had for around $3k, and be a nice system. Add some RTI A3's for the rears, and still well within your budget. -
Thanks Zane77 I see that great forum.
