Help with SonyDVP-665P and Toshiba57H83

I bought another new Sony DVD player and Not sure whats wrong here.. it is the dvp-665p, and my monitor is the toshiba 57h83..
I use component hookups and after any dvd starts to play the picture goes wacky in color.. mostly reds or greens.. I shut the progressive scan feature off and it looked as though it was going to be fine.. then while playing in the first 5 minutes it changed colors again.. This is New and I have not had any troubles with either of my other dvd players in this way.
I was wondering if it is a defective unit? or? should I just box it up and return it?
Has anyone else had this happen to them?
I tried the progressive film, movie, & auto modes and none of them produce anything close to right.
