Anyone using RTI-A7's for their center channel - Dedicated Home Theater

All,

I am in the planning phase for the new dedicated home theater in my home. For those out there I totally recommend doing major research and planning it out using google sketchup or some similar program.

Well since this will be a dedicated room I am going to move almost all of my equipment from the family room and then replace some parts. This is what I am planning:

RTi-A7's - FL, C, FR
2- Hsu VTF3-MK4 subs
4 - Fx-iA6 for surround and rear surround.

I am going to use my Emotiva XPA-5 to power the C and surrounds and an XPA-2 for the fronts.

Here are my questions:

Has anyone out there used a Csi-A6 center channel and then changed it out for an A7? If so was it better? I hear that when using the same speaker for the three fronts it sounds great. Also note that these three speakers will be behind an audio transparent screen so size is not an issue.

What are your thoughts? Thanks,

    I've never personally tried it but you should have no issues at all, and a seamless front soundstage.

    I am still trying to determine if the A6 would be a better choice for center than the A7. I would think the A7 would have a lower end to it, but the A6 has more midrange drivers, right?

    That is what I was thinking. I wonder if there is anyone willing to trade me their a9's + cash for my a7's or my a7's + my a6 for the a9's.

    Separate pre-amp and amps for me moving forward.

    I'm looking at 3x A7s or 2x A9 + A7 for center.... not sure.

    SC35 as pre and one of the 3 5 channel amps for power....will be sweet. Just wrapped the in wall cable bundles tonight.

    Three of the same speakers across the front is the best way to go. If I had a couple more feet of depth I would have done an AT screen with three A7's behind it.

    The A6 is not a bad center at all. I personally wouldn't do A9's and a A7 center. The A9 having dual 5 1/4" drivers is going to sound a little different than the A7 with one 6 1/2" driver.
