I might have asked this ages ago but since now I own the product I really should know this. Now, I've seen on other Polk model speakers clearly there is a fuse on the terminal cups.Additonally when I owned my Bose 601s I d/l a pdf instruction booklet and they 1.highly recommened it either w/ their in/line kit or buy a inline fuse yourself.Thankfully the SDA 2bs have been a joy and no problem.? is are they somehow internally protected or it's just sool if you/I blow them up.I have no intention just info needed here.

Your 2Bs have a polyswitch built into the crossovers for tweeter protection. A lot of people bypass the polyswitch but then you run the risk of damaging the tweeter.

Many here replace the polyswitch with a 0.5 ohm/12 watt mills resistor. The polyswitch degrades the high end and was put there to prevent folks who drove their amps into clipping from blowing tweeters.
It's not necessary if you drive your speakers properly, i.e. using a quality, high current amp that's not overstressed. I did the above with my 2.3TL's and have never had an issue, even though I tend to like music at reference levels.

I've replaced the poly's in three sets of SDA's that I've rebuilt, never had a problem. I use a Krell amp rated at 250W at 8 ohms, 500W at 4 ohms.Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.
