Got my LSIM 703's this morning... No issues thank you Mr. Fedex guy.

I unboxed them without any hesitation, and set them up and put them on the stands.

Heavy for a bookshelf speaker, but don't mind that at all.
I remembered to change the speaker terminals on the back of my amp to the 8 ohm posts. good.

Mine are the Midnight Mahogany, and they look really nice up on the 30" stands. They seem tp be at just the right height tweeters at ear level. I still have my MP 1000 sub hooked up, and crossed at app 50hz... I would think that is where the 703's bass would begin to fall off anyhow.

Hooked them up tp my Yaqin MC100B integrated amp.

I played 1 album side, and here are my first impressions.

They are very well balanced. The new tweeters are more accurate but not at all harsh and a bit more noticeable than the LSi9's tweets. The overall sound experience seems like they are "bigger" speakers than the 9's, and if I closed my eyes and didn't know any better I would think they were floor standers. The mid range and bass seem to blend together seamlessly, and they have that solid mid range on guitar passages that remind me of my Monitor 5b's but better blended. The nicest quality i find so far is how warm but not over extended or forced the bass response is. My sub is set low volume and crossover wise, and I can see shutting it off as in my 13x11x7 listening room wont require it.

I am letting them break in a little right now on low volume.

After some hours , I might remove the sub, and bi amp using my M80 on the bass end, and the Yaqin on the mid and hi end. Just for S&G's

So far very excited and happy about the upgrade to the M's.

I was so close to pulling the trigger on those, just really don't have a place for them. They're hard to beat at that price, that's for sure.

Yup..I woulda had them yesterday... If have the tracking number, you could probably pick them up at you nearest Fedex Depot but they would have to get them off the truck tonite or tomorrow.. I have a thing with UPS that I can override sig req'd but not with Fedex.

Mikey, congrats on the bargain deal on the 703's! Did you try setting your crossover to 80hz.?

Good to see guys getting these. With the continued good reviews like this...I think those of us that missed out will be getting the play money together in hopes that Polk might do this again before years end.(fingers crossed). What a great deal on those! Merry X-Mas!

I questioned why they would have a 50% off sale anyway? To move stock? They did that in spades! And who uses a login code these days and thinks it won't get posted on the net? Who knows what's goings on? You never know? Anything can happen...

I questioned it for about 4ns, and once i determined it was legit i just pounced... My only regret was that the 705's would have been too big for the space. Nonetheless so far very happy with the sound and the savings.

Wow...just very nice listening area. My area is more 3 year old and 6 year old little boy Lego themed...but I wouldn't trade 'em. Not the review I was hoping for. Was hoping to hear the LSi9 fortress held its own. I guess I should just consider myself fortunate that I will be able to test myself. My fed ex driver opened my invoice and found my cell number. She called, and waited for me to drive home. Have to work this weekend...but again, thankful that I have a job to splurge on these. Keep us updated as they break in. I have to admit I opened one 703 to take a pic, and the midnight mahogany has an classy look! I have little doubt the 706c will beat the LSiC so I guess its dilemma time.

Very nice,collection. Unlike what Pete Townsed once famouly said" there my f%&king guitars and I'll do w/ what I want to them. I think most are works of art!!!
My personal favorites and I do not play a note are.The Burnt Orange Gretsch Country Gentleman, Gibson faded cherry ES-335 Vibratone Stereo, Fender Broadcaster/Telecaster,Les Paul Black Beauty w/ Bigsby Trapese and tremalo like Neal Young's Old Blackie, and a Sunburst 57' Fender Strat......Oh yea congrats on the speakers,just awed by your axes.......

After letting the 703's play and left to burn in at low vol over the last 2 days while doing other stuff.

Came down this AM and decided to give a listen. Threw an Alan Parsons Project Master Hits CD in, and gotta say I am sonically impressed out the waz. These guys came alive since my last listen, and really seem to be more organic/pure in their delivery. The detail these things produce is incredible for their stature. i am noticing vocals sound richer, but not forced forward, than the VR3 mod 9's.

The soundstage presented is very impressive. I still have the MP 1000 sub in place and will leave it for now x'd over at 50 and vol set to 20. I think at adds a nice little bump to the room and helps sustain the warmth of the bass.

No that is the black base of the center speaker stand (Lovan M2) The Blu ray is in the cab.
