Considering selling tl'ed 2B's

Howdy, folks. Thanks to all the info here I was able to mod up a set of 2b's to TL standard. And they sound great. Until I bought a house where proper placement is damn near impossible. And placement is key,as you all know. As much as it pains me,i think they have to be moved along. So, my question is, what do I ask for a local sale? RDO 198's,clarity cap px's for the highs, solens for the lows, mundorf mox resistors, and a polk replacement mid. Very presentable condition, and they are studios. 300ish?

    Welcome to Club Polk!

Nice speakers! It goes without saying that you can't sell them here with less than 100 posts.

250-300 would be an average price for a non-TLed vesion of SDA 2Bs. The problem, you "never" get your money "back" when you put all those upgrades into a set of SDAs unless some Polkie really wants them? People just don't pay for the "upgrades". So, I'm afraid $300 or so is about right even though they're really worth "more"! It's not fair but...

That's why it's best to consider SDAs "keepers" if you're really going to sink some "coin" into them!

You're right. My apologies. Looks like OP is on the wrong end of forum changes.

There is a local pair of those stock for $350 for your reference.

Why don't they work with your new room?

Agreed as they are smaller speakers and work well in most rooms.

Thanks for the replies. I just dont have enough wall length with a fireplace on one wall, and a short half wall opposite the fireplace. And the room isn't all that big to begin with. Was thinking of using the proceeds to build a set of sr-71's or something in the similar price range. We will see,as i have typed up the CL ad three times now,but still can't pull the trigger on them.LOL.

Honestly, if you can afford to keep them and there is ANY chance you would use them in the future, I would just keep them. Its too good of a speaker (especially upgraded) to let go IMO.

    Good luck either way.
