Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion." :\
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

Earlier this year, I was mounting a Grace tonearm on a Denon platter and discovered that one of the channels in the cable that plugs into the bottom of the tonearm base to the phono preamp was screwed up. The Grace 707 has an unusual and uncommon cable and nobody wanted to take on the challenge of making a new cable. Except Pepster. He researched the appropriate wire, gave me a price and constructed a really nice cable from scratch. It turned out the cable was exceedingly difficult to build due to its weird five-prong plug and the manner in which it fit in the TT, way beyond the time assumed on the quoted price, but he would not take any extra money as he quoted me a price and would not go beyond it. When I sent him a tip he would not take it, and sent me an extra IC for that amount. I've also previously purchased some fine IC's from him, and the parts probably cost as much as he charged me. Also gracious in giving advice. A man is as a man does.
