Let me put it this way, I would never try to finish a piece of furniture with a spray can.

+1. Maybe a mailbox or garbage can. The finish on those towers look sweet and definetly looks like a quality job.

Ah, you have Usher's back in the house. Still remember how your MD2's sound? I have compared the Usher 6311s to the 705's for home theater.

The 6311s at Skip's place, with no center. The 705s, I have four of them for front and surround duty, while the 706c lived at the center. My HT is 15 x 25.

The LSIM's were all powered by a B&K reference 200.5 connected to an Eilte SC37.

Guess which sounded better? I confirmed this several times. Went to Skip's, came back home, system on, turned it off. I did not listen to my setup for several weeks.

The movie was Rise of the Dark Knight.

Yes, I remember the sound of the MD2's pretty well, and they are on a different level.

As for the 6311's vs. the LSiM's, I get why anyone would pick the Ushers... I also get why that person would be wrong...

I didn't mean to say that the person picking the Ushers would be "wrong", I just meant that I could see it from both sides. They're both great!

I'll do more detailed writeup once the 705s get here.

And why is that? I really am curious because everyone I know in these parts has the same consensus. Perhaps they are needing some more break-in? I will say that I don't expect them to compare to your maggies for 2 channel. Let me know where they are falling flat. Perhaps they just need more break-in?

Were you able to compare both in your room at the same time on the same gear?
