turntable connection question

I am moving some equipment around today and I moved my turntable to a shelf I have to the left of my Yamaha CR 2020 receiver and the problem is that, where I now have the turntable, the RCA plugs (I think that is the name) will not reach to plug them into the receiver's phono jacks. The RCA plugs on the back of the turntable are quite short.
Is there any kind of an adapter I can plug them into to lengthen the reach of the plugs or am I stuck on returning the turntable to the shelf immediately above the receiver (that is really the only place where the plugs will reach from the tt to the receiver at present).
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

You can probably try some RCA extension cables but you run the risk of introducing hum and noise. My TT is not close to my AVR and it does not have a phono pre.
so I am using this one for now but planning to get something better in the future.

Thanks. I now know what I need to get: RCA extension cables.
It looks like I will be taking a trip to Radio Shack tomorrow.
Thanks again. -
I know what you mean I have my CR 2020 in the middle of a long shelf and depending on which turntables I use ( one on either side) sometimes the RCA's don't reach PITA really..
It's a BIG receiver..
Like Irrenhaus said you need RCA's extensions OR replace the RCA's on your table with longer one's if it's feasible for you..I am moving some equipment around today and I moved my turntable to a shelf I have to the left of my Yamaha CR 2020 receiver and the problem is that, where I now have the turntable, the RCA plugs (I think that is the name) will not reach to plug them into the receiver's phono jacks.
