Listened to them some more last night. There is nothing that I dislike about these speakers.
Except maybe that they're kinda heavy."I did not slap you. I high-fived your face." -

Heavy is good.
I receieved my pair Saturday and I am blown away by how much sound these produce. The soundstage is incredible.
And they are sitting on the friggin floor!
I haven't gotten stands yet but these are giving me great centering and depth up in my listening level from the floor.
Incredible little speakers.I'm impressed.
And i'm not even using an Emo amp!Main Rig-Realistic AM/FM Record player 8 track boasting 4 WPC

Yeah, I know. Heavy is good. Rapping on them with my knuckles... sounds like I'm knocking on a solid block of wood!"I did not slap you. I high-fived your face."
-
I have mine playing the Beta Band right now...forget about the "veil being lifted" off my modest system....I would compare these speakers to the "window being open".

Yoo hoo... over here..."I did not slap you. I high-fived your face."

For those of you that wanted a pair of these and were crying all over the place when Polk pulled the plug on the sale we shall never discuss, shame on you guys for letting these sit here for so long without a new home. I don't believe any of you guys had intentions of doing anything but complain. Now I have the cheese to go with that whine, and you guys can cry another river...The Gear... Amen!
I just spent a couple hours listening to the ones I bought and could not be more pleased.
Wow have bookshelf speakers come a long way since the '70's.

Pending Jephdood's approval, that ship has sailed. We spoke nearly a week ago, and out of consideration of all those that bitched and moaned about loosing out, I told him to give those folks a chance first. So much for that BS. I have been wanting to try these on some tube power for a while now.
I heard the 707's and they did not impress when played against the SRS, but these guys are getting lot's of love. They will also help get my message across to the cabinet builders working on my SRS/M project....
Eventually, I will get a 706, and two more of these, along with the SRS/M's to complete my HT/2channel combo rig. I have a set of RM-7500's that will be used for front/rear height speakers as well. The Gear... It's my pleasure to send them your way. Some day my wallet will match my want to acquire a full set of these. They're amazing speakers. Whoever the head engineer is should be applauded.
Thanks all for looking! It seems these have indeed found a new home. :cool:nooshinjohn wrote: »Pending Jephdood's approval, that ship has sailed. We spoke nearly a week ago, and out of consideration of all those that bitched and moaned about loosing out, I told him to give those folks a chance first. Thank god these are sold. They were interfering with my decision making skills regarding some 705's.

They are now in-transit to me, and should be here on Wednesday.

You're going to love them John! They are a match made in heaven with tubes! I'm never getting rid of mine.

They have arrived and though they do sound good, I have found that my tube amps push these things to the wall pretty quickly, and without mercy. They exposed some pretty severe port "chuffing" at even modest levels. If I try to push them even a bit I am afraid the speakers would not be able to keep up.
In no way a slam on the speakers, but I think these amps are a couple orders of magnitude beyond what the speakers can handle.
Fantastic packing job by Jephdood, and a very easy guy to work with... Kudos Dood! The Gear... Oh, dang John.. Sorry to hear there's not a good 'synergy' of equipment going on there. I was floored by the speakers on the modest stuff I have here.nooshinjohn wrote: »They have arrived and though they do sound good, I have found that my tube amps push these things to the wall pretty quickly, and without mercy. Placement could be the killer here. I have the 1.2TL's back in the mix for now and I will play with placement this weekend.
