Unless you are running phantom center, how are the front L/R speakers any more or less important than the rear L/R speakers? Wouldn't the center be the most important by a long shot and the rest of the surrounding speakers be equivalently important?

The majority of the info on a movie soundtrack is in the front 3 speakers, with the center actually doing a lot of that. Know an easy way to find out ? Disconnect the surrounds and watch a movie. Then, connect the surrounds and disconnect the front's and do the same. You'll find out real quick which are more important.

Why didn't I think of that? I'll give it a try tomorrow, thanks!

Nightfall, are you needing a center channel speaker for your system?
