SDA interconnect

Is the interconnect anything special, as far as how it's made, or what it's made of? I noticed it is one of the upgrades for the SRS's. I can have one made locally if I know what the specs are/should be.

Do you have the blade blade or is it a pin blade type connector on your setup?Absolute corruption empowers absolutely.

I'm thinking the original cable is 16- or 18-gauge; and for most applications it's excessively long. General rule: the blade/blade style uses two individual conductors, the pin/blade has two conductors, but I think the second one (blade) is unused. -
Attachment not found.I would say YES it makes a difference in quality of cord.would lesser work-probaby. As you can see from this pic. I have one stock one & one jerryrigged one. I also need a better quality one to replace my stock one-in due time..

Your SDA SRS speakers use the blade/blade type connectors. The original cable was 16 gauge with one wire connected to the large blade, the other to the small. Polk sells a replacement for about $40.00. Many of us have upgraded both the cable and connections. Some use binding posts on the speaker with bananas or spades on the cable. Others use SpeakOn connectors, which I highly recommend. Like speaker cable, the choice for the SDA cable makes a difference, so choose wisely.Political Correctness'.........defined

Since this thread is about interconnects for the SDA system I do have a question.
One of the speaker pairs I have came with a plain cable with the pin blade connection on the end.
The other is the same but it has what appears to be a transformer in the middle of the cable. What is it's purpose and which one would be the best to run?
Is this the Polk inexpensive version of a Dreadnaught? -
Yes, that is the factory isolation transformer IC and is a more rare item.

Mine is the blade-blade. So it's basically speaker wire, is that right? I'm a firm believer in bigger is better, as far as cable goes, so if I use 12 ga. wire with the SDA blade-blade connectors, I should be go to go?

yes you should be good to go...just don't use cheap home depot wire or anything like it. -
A larger gauge SDA cable is not a bad idea, but you will either have to change the connector type, or find/buy new blade-blade terminations.
