I guess these great Polk deals are driving up prices on the used market.

Frys used to have those on sale often, new for $65 or $69 apiece.

Good luck to him getting $400 for the pair!

@ 69.00 a pair. Wow that pretty cheap. Never heard these. But seems like a steal

I was totally tongue in cheek about used prices being driven up. Just posted this because I thought it was hilarious that someone would be asking $400 for a pair of R50.

Yeah, I did get a new pair (cherry) of these several years ago from Frys for $138 - might have been like $15 for shipping too - and the MSRP at the time was $199 apiece. They actually sounded pretty darn good and weren't bad looking at all. I had them in a garage/workroom setup and they impressed pretty much all who heard them. I ended up giving them to my nephew to take to college with him. Last I heard, they (along with a PSW10) were still delivering nicely for him. They were his first real speakers and he is now hooked on Polk for life.

Pricing does seem strange. According to an Amazon review, the Polk list price was $635.

"If you go to the Polk website the list price is $635 for the pair so getting them brand new for $50 bucks is an outrageous deal."
