LSIM 703 Owners please chime in...
Ordered a pair of these today since it was a deal no one should refuse.
Now I need to get a pair of stands and want to know who has found a set they feel does a nice job with these.Height isn't important as i'm looking for quality but I expect 18-22 inches will be what I want.
TIA

These are perfect for the 703'3. I have had my 703'3 for over a year and I have the same stands. They are great. -

I'm hoping I have my 703's (and the stands obviously) by the middle of next week.
Can you give me some impressions to hold me over? -
Oh and a question about the 703's. I have a Carver m1.5t amp. Suitable?

Never heard of Skylan, but I just HAD to look. Its like being in a jewelry store and turning the ring's price tag over. LOLDo you hear that buzzing noise? -

Great sounding speakers. Really has great mid bass for their size. I has HSU sub with their mid bass module and I have the Lsim 703's crossed over at 80 hz. couldn't be happier. I had a pair of rti a9 before and sound wise the lsim's kicks their butt. -
I use the Bello stands for my 9's... mine are 30 inch as I sit a little hi and don't use my beanbag chair any longer... However I installed a dedicated circuit for may lava lamps... sanus and lovan make some nice stands too...all between a $100 and $200 the Skylan look nice tho...

As far as stands....When I get a set of 703's....I will be trying the very affordable Swan D-Stands. I have been wanting to try a low resonant MDF stand. I was going to wait until I got my speakers first(Whenever that will be?) before I linked these as there is not info around here about them. Was going to post up a review, maybe the first.....but maybe those that got in on the deals will find these a great buy as well? I like the beefy look of them myself:

Assimilated has a set of nice VTI stands he was looking to sell. Might work well with the 703's and IIRC they can be filled with lead shot or sand..... Also hit up Jephood as he has stands with his 703's he is selling, not sure if he will sell the stands separate and ship them or not..."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." Actually those are bath towels :-) How did you know about the spatula? -
Those Swan D stands look like they would be the perfect visual match and like the mass of them. Skylan looks to be the better high end stand but not a lot of info on them, at least where I looked.Vinyl, the final frontier...
Avantgarde horns, 300b tubes, thats the kinda crap I want... -

Awesome I need to find a Spatula City! All joking aside, the setup above was just supposed to be a temporary one. I actually have a set of pretty nice Pangea 29" heavy stands filled with sand (will eventually replace with shot) for the 703s. I picked up the ZUs near New Orleans working on a long term project and brought them home to GA to try in my bedroom setup in the photo above. Since I was comparing the two, it was easier to just place the 703s on top of the ZUs, and switch the speaker cables between the two speakers. I was going to move the looser to another setup. To make a long story short, the 703s ended up winning the shoot out, but I like having both speakers in the setup because there are a few areas where I prefer the ZUs (mainly live rock). I decided to keep both in the setup for now.
The reason for the cutting boards under the ZUs are the Omens have a tuned port on the bottom of the speaker to improve bass performance. I read on other forums that the ZUs have better defined bass and more extension when placed on a wood or stone platform. My experience with the ZUs was consistent with this. I'm going to buy heavy 3" thick maple cutting boards to put under them similar to what I'm now running with my turntable. -
After spending 2 hours researching stands, I called Skylan and spoke to Noel. He is hooking me up with a custom made set similar to the sky 28D.
