Interesting DAC from Emotiva's Pro-Audio side:

By the numbers it looks respectable. The internal shot looks like good quality. I wonder what the voltage on the caps and tolerance on the other components are. Dual Headphone amps....

$699 means there is a lot of competition for it however. Be interesting to get a demo of one.

?? I think the unit looks well built and curious how it would compare to my current interface. I would have to compare it to the Forte' that I am looking at for $500 and consider shipping costs. Also the Asus Xonar Essence One is another at the same price point.

I was just joking about the reference to aquarium rocks with those pebbles that people want to tape to their cords right along with cable risers.

That would necessitate a nice bump in price.

While it certainly looks nice, the lack of 192 on Pro gear is inexcusable..

The DC-1 does handle 192kHz on every input. Not sure where you read otherwise but I can assure you it does.

If it has the Emotiva house sound, probably just average.

I don't watch Television infomercials...I have no idea what they are..lol
But like everyone here says you have no business commenting on something you have not heard..
I personally think the 30 days free is a Great way to test gear out, I just wish some of the more niche brands offered that..

Yeah definitely up to 24/192 on all inputs. Interesting that it has analog ins. That is rare for a DAC to have. Seems to be a highly flexible DAC.

Would it? Besides, it's pro gear anyways, why would they care about higher bit rates?

It's does 192. It's right on the spec page.

Because it's used for mastering? Higher amplitude allows for better correction for starters. Then you can down sample to a desired target rate.

Is this a possible re-badge of another product is what I have a question about.

It is the equal of any dac i have ever heard(and ive heard them at all price points from budget to Pacific Microsonics territory...

We have now reached the point with DACs in which there is nowhere else to go. We have complete transparency. The DC-1 is that good

it went down 200 bucks too.
