S video

Can someone tell me the advantage of hooking the s video from the dvd player to the reciever and then out to the tv. I set mine directly from the player to the tv . Are there any advantages or disadvantages?

    If the only external video source for your TV is the DVD player then ther is no advantage. On the other hand you other sources like Sat Reciever etc. You can all rout them to the TV via the reciever. This way you can benifit from VIDEO SWITCHING ability of your reciever.
