I've been into Lego's since I was a child. Always seems to haunt me, every year someone gets me something thats Lego, even if it's not one of the lines I really like, I always enjoy putting them together. Very calming I feel like. A few days ago I was in Raleigh for a quick trip and stopped in to the mall to grab some new running shoes, however I wasn't aware that they had a Lego store! I ended up picking up this - http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Creator-Volkswagen-Camper-10220/dp/B0050R0XEG - Now I'm normally into the 'City' and 'Star Wars' collection, I couldn't pass up the coolness of this build. I spent about three hours on it last night with some tunes on, and got the frame/floor and bumpers done. I'm telling you, this came with FIFTEEN individual bags of Legos, and TWO instruction books. I'm not even halfway through the first book. Looking to be a very fun build, guess I am still a kid at heart!

Cool!! Hate it when I step on one of the pieces in the dark barefoot though!

I learned a lot about life due to lego's..... I used to build all kinds of stuff, I started building my own Lego Star Wars 2 DECADES before they came out with theirs lol.
I discovered my brother and sister valued quantity over quality, so I would barter lots of the standard pieces, for their harder to find/ high value pieces. That worked out great until my parents discovered what I did and "re-distributed" the wealth...... True Story.
I also loved taking them apart and making something new and then using my imagination to have space battles lol..... No sitting in front of a tv for me...."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." I think this year I am getting the kids either the Death Star or Millenium Falcon for X-Mas....I probably should start looking soon though.

I saw those, looked pretty cool. I'll give you a ring, if your ever heading up to the mountains (Boone) let me know as well!I think this year I am getting the kids either the Death Star or Millenium Falcon for X-Mas....I probably should start looking soon though.
Good luck finding the collector Falcon, I've seen them on eBay for twice the MSRP since they discontinued it. If it's the Death Star, better start saving at $399.99! And I think it was over 4000 pieces, set aside a month for that build! -

Yeah, but I need three of them, and there are only 2 available
What a scam..... -
Still have all of my legos. The only problem is, my brother and i made a bet that whoever produced the first boy gets them. He won!
I assume some day that they will be worth a small fortune but for right now, they are still the greatest toy ever created!Where’s the KABOOM?!?! There’s supposed to be an Earth shattering KABOOM!!! -
When my son was 8 years old I got him a Mind Storm set for Christmas. He went off to his room and about an hour later here comes this robot thingy across the living room floor. It quite possibly sparked his interest in programming. He's 24 now doing a 6 figure programming gig.>

True story...went over and helped a friend who does a lot of artwork for Jinx gamer clothing.
She said she didn't have any cash to pay me so she goes "Hey...you like Star Wars right? Jinx gave me this Star Wars Lego thing for Christmas last year. You can have it for payment. I haven't even unwrapped it all the way."
She then proceeds to pull out that exact Millennium Falcon set.
I knew what it was worth and told her I couldn't take it because of how much it was worth.
I then showed her the eBay auctions for them and she was floored.
But she insisted I take it with the only stipulation being I could never sell it.
I agreed and it has been in storage since waiting for me to build a house with that assembled in its own display case in my office."Some people find it easier to be conceited rather than correct."
"Unwad those panties and have a good time man. We're all here to help each other, no matter how it might appear." DSkip -
Our grandson is really into them. If you get a chance to go to Lego Land in Carlsbad CA it is well worth the 2-3 days to see it all.Speakers: SDA-1C (most all the goodies)

Does anyone know why the Falcon is so expensive....it seems a few years back I say it at the Lego store in Downtown Disney and it was like 300.00 or so....from what I remember.

Sadly, probably the same reason OOP recordings go for ludicrous amounts. No more are being made, & somebody out there with more money than common sense will eventually buy it.

Mindstorm is very cool, but it took far too long to release the production version. I tested the development of that system in 1993 at Microsoft, and I was very surprised to see it on the market in 2006. -
