Hi all,
I came across a great deal on a set of Monitor 4A's. The tweets are bad in them. Does anyone out there have a set of these they would be willing to part with? A friend suggested an "OEM" type replacement from parts express. Does anyone have experience with these?
Here is the exact speaker:

Your speakers use the SL1500 tweeter. Have you checked with Polk to see if they have any?Political Correctness'.........defined

Well, I'm a bit confused on which tweeter is the correct one. Polk does carry the SL 1500 but I am not sure those are the correct ones. When I do a search of the Polk SL 1500, the one that comes up is rectangular and clearly says Polk Audio on it. The tweeters in the speakers are 3 1/4' square with a 3/4" speaker and there doesn't seem to be a name anywhere on it. I need some help!

Remove the tweeter and look on the back for the model number.Political Correctness'.........defined

Thank you PolkieMan. Those are the correct tweeters! I found a set of tweets and crossovers online for a fair price. ($35)
This will leave me with an extra set of crossovers. Perhaps I'll recap them for the future....I love how a new project presents itself!
Does anyone have a cap suggestion? Some say to replace the electrolytics with poly caps.
Thanks guys and go team Mercedes!:) -
Since the XO is so simple on the 4's, and they don't have the dreaded polyswitch, I actually left mine alone (I rebuilt the XO on my 10B's). Doesn't mean it wouldn't help, but I didn't have to "touch" mine at all because I'll never replace the peerless tweets. If you do end up replacing the parts, most folks here (including myself) go for SoniCaps and Mills resisters.Yamaha RX-A2050 AVR (5.0.2); LG OLED77C2 4K TV(4) Polk Monitor 10B's w/SoniCaps, Mills, and RDO-194 tweets (R/L F/R)(2) Polk RC80i (Top Middle)Polk CS300 center channelAnalog: B&O TX2 Turntable, Nakamichi Cassette Deck 1Digital: Pioneer CLD-99 Elite LD, Panasonic DMP-UB900 UHD Blu-RayBedroom: Arylic Up2Stream AMPv3 driving Polk Monitor 4's w/peerless tweets

I would think too it would help the sound to replace the them SoniCaps and Mills and would not cost much either, those caps were cheap and now they are quite old.POLK SDA 2.3 TLS BOUGHT NEW IN 1990, Gimpod/Sonic Caps/Mills RDO-198
