They look pretty beefy for $85.

I'm not familiar with those JBLs. They look lower tier but are "certainly" worth $85. I run some older JBL L80ts which are in the permanent collection (they're home versions of a popular '80s studio Monitor). Like most JBLs, I bet, if nothing else, these can put out some "bass".

    They are okay speakers.
For HT or party, it'll be fine but not for music.

    Klipsch RB81, KG3.5, B&W DM602.5, Polk.
Subwoofers: Klipsch RW10, Triad ProSub Bronze.

I used to love JBL's "back in the day". Which for me was thousands of days ago. But I was away from this hobby for so long, that I don't know much of anything from the last couple decades.

Thanks, Mystery. I am not looking for party speakers.

I don't know anything about this model of JBL's but judging by the speaker connections in back, they look very cheap. Just my 2 cents....

Spring terminals and the magnets on the woofers look tiny.
That being said, $85 isn't bad by any means.

Thanks, guys, I thought the back looked weak also. But don't have the experience that most of you here have.

Hi Jim, are you looking for speakers for a 2 channel system or HT? We'll be glad to try and help you find something you'll like. Also ,what price range are you wanting to spend?

Everyone here is so willing to help spend money, their own and other peoples. What a great place

I am just a CL junkie, not looking for anything specific. Love to look for bargains but I don't know enough about a lot of things to know what's a good, and what's a great deal. So I ask here, knowing that y'all have much more experience than I do.

I have enough speakers for my current use, and a pair of Monitor 7Cs sitting idle which I have asked Trey about upgrading the caps on, but I just love looking at what else is for sale cheap. Cheap being the operative word in my current situation.

So far I paid $75 each of two pair of 7's, $100 for a pair of 10's with original stands and $50 for a pair of Mariah Acoustics that I don't even know the model number of, but they sound good. Would be great with more power fed to them, i think. I also got a steal on RT600's, a Velodyne sub and CS2 center, but out of the last group, I flipped all but the sub right away. Gotta love Craigslist.
