The pole is bigger than the hole.
Looks like the banana plug was widened for tight fit and when it was pulled, it pulled the whole thing.

What do I need to do to fix this?

Upgrade to quality binding posts. Cardas, WBT or Vampire are good choices.

Well these were binding posts on a pair of monitor 10 I saw on CL. I went to check them out tonight. They had SL2000 tweeters. One speaker had a 6520 and a 6510, the other had a pair of 6511s.

Thanks to the shared knowledge of the members here I knew enough to walk away.
