I have owned my Polk Speakers for about 10 years. I always thought that they were Polk RTA-12C but I put in some
New speaker cable yesterday and the back of the speaker I noticed that it says polk monitor series - R12 23036. I assume the 23036 is the serial number. From the pictures I have seen they look like the RTA 12. They have the tweeters like the pictures of the RTA 12. They have two midrange drivers and 12 inch passive radiator. Any information or input would be helpful as I am thinking of up grading the crossovers. Thanks.

The R stands for Right channel. The other should read L12 xxxxx.Political Correctness'.........defined
"A doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a t-u-r-d by the clean end."

Thanks for the info. Found out I had the speakers reversed. Thought the sound was good before, now it is even better. The Crossover for the tweeter says RTA-12. How do i know what series they are ? It is great that Polk has this forum with all this information on it. I am amazed that I can still buy new tweeters to replace my SL2000 after almost 30 years since the speaker was made. I am sure glad that I bought these speakers on eBay for $250 dollars for the pair ten years ago !!!

Its great to hear that you enjoy your speakers for all that time. They are a nice speaker. It will be nice to hear how you like them after you do some upgrades on them. Would you have pictures of your speakers as that may help...

new tweeters for yours would be rdo-194 much better than the sl2000. mention you're a club Polk member and get discount 48.00ea.

Here are the pictures of my RTA-12 and the crossovers and the sl2000 tweeter. -
The picture of the SL2000 picture of the tweeter did not come through. Must have been to large.

Wanted to buy the RDO-194 tweeters to replace my Sl2000 on my RTA-12's from Polk. They are back ordered until October 25th. Bummer !:arrowd:

Since they have the polyswitch instead of a fuse for tweeter protection, those are 12C's.
