e-bay survey

I know that several of you keep tabs on e-bay items. I have found that when buying new items, more often than not they are factory re-furbished items and they normally sell for 80% of brand new pricing. They usually only carry a 90-day warranty instead of the normal 1 year warranty. Getting a real good deal on e-bay is the exception and not the rule. I'm amazed at how many people bid on almost anything and really do not get that great of a price. Has anyone out there continually gotten great deals on their bids. Mabey I'm doing something wrong. Or mabey it is a sellers market instead of buying. Please share your experiences.
Thanks!

It really depends on what you're buying, but I've gotten some fantastic deals.

The biggest problem is shipping. I see too many people thinking they got this wonderful deal and then they realize the shipping charges.

This particular time it's a Nikon digital camera. I know what you mean with the shipping charges. Some are outrageous!
What type of items do you see fantastic deals on? New or used stuff?

Computer parts are what I find the best deals on. I've gotten video cards, sound cards, ram, HDs, ect for sometimes hundreds off the retail price.

You can get raped on that stuff too if you don't know what you're doing.

Another strategy is to PURPOSLY misspell what you're looking for and catch Sellers in their mistakes.
