Donna Summer, Live & Encore (1999) on DVD.

I love Donna Summer, what a loss when she passed away. I have always said it's sort of a shame that she got "type-casted" as a disco queen, when she was far more than that. We didn't even get to see the tip of the iceberg when it came to Donna Summer, and shame on her management for not making it happen.

This DVD is an absolute "must-have" if you're a Donna Summer fan, and extremely enjoyable even if you're not. She showcases her versatility in this concert, and you can really hear the incredible talent/potential that should have been exploited years ago. What a voice---addictive to say the least. Her performance is dead-bang on, with room to spare.

This one gets 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Donna my dear, you are missed.

    Donna Summer was inducted into the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year.

    Was this the VH1 concert she did?

    Thanks for that Steve. She had a fabulous voice and I agree she got unfairly type cast. I would also recommend one of her last recorded appearances if you're a fan, David Foster's The Hit Man Returns blu-ray. Both The Hit Man and Hit Man Returns are awesome blu-ray concerts, very well recorded and lots of variety. She finishes off the second concert (October of 2010 I believe) with 4 songs: Unbreak My Heart, Crazy and On The Radio medley all with Seal, then Last Dance solo. She was cute as hell too, had a big crush on her back in the day :biggrin:

    Red, I've seen some of those videos on youtbe, I'm a big Seal fan as well---he has a very unique style.
