Yup. I wasn't quite expecting them to be so big in that room. They're a pair of Magnepan MG IIIa's completely redone by Magnepan. Everything is new.

They actually sounded pretty damn good but I'm still messing around with placement. They could go to a different room.

Daboys, I think this is the second time I was ever blown away by the size of speakers. The first and this pretty funny I bought my ADC 303ax from an audiophile guy in a very affluent section of N.J.So me being me and nosey the stuff he sells is in his Florida room and not in the house proper.I asked so what kind of tunes do you have.He says I usually don't do tours but you seem to know a bit so come in , there on the floor were giant mono block tube amps on marble plinths and then gigantic Albert Van Alsteins the size of a smart car each.I asked could I hear these things and he said tubes take a while and basically no.Yours in that room just reminded me of that little story.Goood luck w/ those ,I have never heard Maggies ever or AVAs either.Congrats it's always fun to UPGRADE.....LEW

The funny thing is they don't look that big in the pictures.

These throw out a huge soundstage. Hoping to play with them a little on Friday or Saturday. I know they definitely need room to the rear but I think side placement isn't as crucial but they need some room.

    The Candles?

The candles were on the cocktail table. I had to move a few things just to put the bases on. Actually they're better than the stands you would normally get.
