Aune T1 pre/headphone amp

Just got this in the mail today from last month's MassDrop and finally got to hook it up. I've been waiting for this unit for quite some time. I have a pair of AKG Q701, K271MKII, K44, Beyerdynamic DT770 pro and Harman HARKAR-BT.

I've been wanting to get the most of the 271MKII...so I'm firing up my Thriller flac files right now......... so far on the Q701's they're able to amplify them to deafening levels and I'm hearing things I've never ever heard in the 30 years of "Thriller".

Glad to hear. I have a buddy who wants to get one of those for his setup. I am interested in your thoughts after running it a bit.

Right off the bat there is a ton of sibilance (?) where all the S's are sharp. I changed from the Q701s to the K271MKII's and it was even more defined. The drums (when they hit it with the cat-tail things) were ridiculously clear. I'm going to leave it plugged in and let it run for a while to see what happens. I hear if you put different tubes in it will color the sound differently. I have to go read up on which are the "best" to get.

The MassDrop got me this unit for $109 or $119...can't remember. Either way it was quite a bit of $$$ off retail. This is my first ever headphone amp so we'll see how that goes. The tube drives the DAC portion so it's nice that I can hook this up as a DAC to my normal system to see how it sounds. Thus far, very impressed. Even my $19 set of K44's sound 100% better.
