Can these LSI25's be fixed? everyone's input is welcomed..

i have found a pair of lsi25's that according to the owner were not packed properly during his move and they are physically damaged. He claims they work perfect and he is willing to demo them for me. Take a look at the pictures and can you give me an idea if the bases can be replaced? can something be done to the cabinet of the speaker? ONe of the speakers does not stand on its own because the base is bent so that is why i was asking of these can be swapped out, etc.
he is selling them both for $450 dollars.
Any input would be greatly appreciated guys.

The bases can be replaced as they are screwed in to the main cabinet. You don't necessarily have to replace them with original Polk bases. You can use third party ones that don't require screws.
Can you take a zoomed in picture of the damage made to the cabinet? I'm not sure if the cabinet was cracked open or if the finish was simply scratched off. Make sure that the cabinet is not cracked as this will affect the sound coming from the speaker. The cabinets finish can be repaired or concealed.Polk R300 x2

You can utilize different types of speakers bases / platforms. But you may also remove the existing speaker base and add rubber feet or spikes if you are on a budget.

IIRC, the shiny black on the cabinets is a plastic laminate. I don't know of a way to properly fix that without replacing the laminate. Personally, I think you're looking at more headaches and money than you might realize.Political Correctness'.........defined

ok so let's say the cabinet is not cracked and the speakers are fully functional. What would be a reasonable price for these speakers given the condition they are in?

NooshinJohn got a set of LSi 15's with that problem. Polk sells the bases and the can be replaced (he did this). Like stated the base is one piece and all 4 spacers are their own piece as well. One of the corners was damaged as well IICR. He used some bondo and his car body shop connections to have it repainted IIRC. As to it looks after being replaced........
Well I didnt notice a difference between the two till he told me, and even then its hard to tell unless your literally pointed to them, and no one else has yet (over 2 years) I think they look darned sexy in my HT

If everything else works and its just the bases, a little bondo and paint, well... 450 is a FRIGGIN STEAL. Drop everything and get them now. Even Polks refurbs are 1200 IIRC on their ebay site.

any idea how much are the bases from polk? i think i can get him to lower the price on the speakers to about $375

Hey whitecamaross- If you don't want them, let the rest of us know where these damaged LSI's are please. i currently own a pair of lsi9s and i am driving them with a ROTEL RMB 1095 5 CHANNEL POWER AMP. i have plenty of clean power for them, but i am just making sure that these are not a headache. I have not looked at them personally since the guy who is selling them is out of town. All i have seen are pictures and need to confirm if they are fully functional and the type of damage they really have. I got rid of my lsi15s and lsi7s last week, but decided to keep the lsi9s so i can at least have some sound. My real intention was to wait on the Golden Ear Triton 7s (a division of polk) when they are released next month and build my system with those little by little, but then i came up on these lsi25s.....

I have no experience whatsoever with the LSi lineup. But most if not all of the owners I have heard on this forum prefer the LSi15 over the LSi25.
Most likely irrelevant to you situation though...just sayin'...--Gary--

whitecamaross, have you considered the new LSiM series? They are a much better speaker than the LSi series ever were.
As Gary alluded, the LSi 25's were the least liked of that series.Political Correctness'.........defined
