Sony dvd player SR200p REMOTE 4 DIGIT CODE ? for a new universal remote ?

sony dvp-sr200p the remote somehow got broken "Nobody Knows" how so :evil:

I bought a cheap walmart universal remote, and tried many of the 4 digit codes, with no luck

A) the remote is bad out of the box

B) incorrect code

any input or comments ?

    I'm assuming that the batteries are not reversed in the remote and are charged? Not being smart,but something simple like that can be overlooked. Make sure there is no film covering the sensor on the Sony too.

    Batteries good, no covering film,

    I just want to use this as a cd player stop, play ff, rev

    Don't have that unit but others that I have have the model no. And code listed in the user manual. Check with Sony..they should be able to give ya the code if all else fails

    I had one of my kids try it...

    so either the remote is no good or the sony no longer works...

    BUT it did BEFORE the factory remote got mushed

    so It looks like a trip back to wally for return
