those crazy S-video pins

So my sister broke one of the gold pins on my monster S-video cable. It was supposedly bent and it broke when she tried to plug it in (Thankfully she got the pin out of the device). Is it worthwhile to attempt a repair? Will Monster's warranty cover the cable (esp. if I can't prove when and where I bought it)? (it's secondhand)

    Not a chance.
I had an wire come loose were they connect to the pin part (accessed by screwable cover)- so I just sordered it just as they had. Works fine.
In your case - look for a new one. I may have a few factory ones in my box-o-wires.
I'm sure the pins broke from trying to force it on in ten different directions - tricky S-cables.:D

Replace it. If your equipment handles Component, go with that over the replacement S cable.

Some places will still replace it. They have a lifetime warranty.

Call around for an authorized dealer. It's Monsters policy to replace all defective cables (your fault or not). My company swaps all monster out no matter how old or what happened to it. If someone tells you otherwise they probably work for CC or Best Buy. One nice thing about monster is Noel Lee backs his **** up.

Thx for the replies, sounds like I should be able to get it replaced if I ask the right people. I will update with news.
