I had some funds already in PayPal account & i did my 2nd ever PayPal transaction ever....my first one was for 150.00 and it went smoothly. There was no hold on it. So i had 150.00 in account..i just left money there....ok....2nd transaction was for 30.00. They put a 21 day hold on it. Meanwhile i set up acct so i could transfer it into my account at my Bank. So i ended waiting 21 day. Now i go to transfer monies over and it says 3-4 days possibly before it may hit account....kind seems like a big PIA to me.... So why ? Did the measly 30.00 amount be put on hold ? I didnt need money. But i sure wondered if people who do Ebay have to wait that long too ?

The transfer from PayPal to your bank taking that long is standard, mine does the same thing. It also takes that long if you transfer money from your bank account just to PayPal (if your using paypal to pay someone and pull from your bank it goes quicker).
Probably has something to do with ensuring the money is legit and blah blah blah.

Normal as normal can be !!!!If you can't hear a difference, don't waste your money.

No stress at all. I was just wondering if when i bought something off Ebay if i were to pay with PayPal they would have to wait the 21 day. I have only 15 or so Ebay buys. So i use my other credit card to purchase when i could. I left the 150.00 money in PayPal because i thought i would eventually use it. But 2 months and i figured id pull it out when i sold my first ever item i shipped out to a guy in PA & he applied 30.00 to my acct & it put a hold on his money. So i figured id wait till his cleared & do it all at one....i had a guy buy my Sansui G5000 for 150.00 & i didnt have PayPal..(he didnt have cash) So i created acct. then i was going to use it. I though. But never did....hope i make sense..

I've never had to wait 3 weeks to move money. I suggest calling/emailing them and asking why...

If there is a question on how valid the funds are coming into the account they will put a hold on them. It probably had nothing to do with you but the person sending the funds.
Also if they ever send it as a Check thru paypal it will take up to 2-3 weeks before it will clear due to the nature of the transaction.
It will always take awhile for the money to be transfered to your bank account. That is normal. -

Bingo
Stop using them awhile ago after getting burned on a transaction. Convenient as their service is, wasn't worth the headaches.HT SYSTEM-

Ha I don't even use my bank account anymore. I have a paypal debit card and use it for everything. But I also get paid through paypal, so by having the card I don't have to wait 3-4 days to get my money.

Only takes me 2 or 3 days. Never longer.

PayPal tells me 3-4 days to transfer from PP balance to my checking account, but it never takes more than 2-business days. This week in fact, I transferred some money on Sunday evening, it was in my checking by early Tuesday morning (talking 3am early). Really that was only 1-business day.
I have Bank of America. For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore... -

You trust PayPal with all your savings, and your paycheck?
Good luck with that. -

Well it took only 2 days to get my funds from pay-pal.after transfering monies.. Not bad.. Im thinking the guy who credited me for item put some kind of hold on it,so he made sure he got item. Which is cool. It was a 30.00 transaction. He got his item in 3 days and was very happy with it. That made my day. It was worth it. Great experience....

Don't ever "request a check" from your paypal balance.
I made that mistake after they screwed up a bank transfer (to their credit, the fixed it pronto).
But they did not process the check.
Re-issued and it got lost in the mail (not their fault).
Re-issued again, and it took 10 days to get here.
5 weeks total to get my original bank transfer money.
I won't hardly even use them anymore, except on Ebay.Testing

That svcks. Ive heard some bad awhile back about paypal. So i do my best to use other types of transactions. I dont like people playing with any of my accounts. The good is i have multiple accounts for that reason..

They have some pretty good customer service I'll give them that.
You can actually call them and talk to "Humanoids".
That in itself is like seeing a UFO of Bigfoot in this day and age!
That said, the problems I had, combined with the charges, it has just become downright expensive to use them to transfer money.
On another note, don't take International money, or even Canada, you will have "International Butt Rash"!
After they have already charged you for the money "transfers", they hit you with a "International Conversion" fee.
Which I can understand for the most part, but have a DAMN hard time swallowing the actual transaction after I look at the fees.
We are talking about 20% maybe, total?:redface:
They sure don't have a problem accepting the money, but.....FEE CHARGED.
Then they ask if you want to accept the money, you hit that yes button, BAM! BIGGER FEE CHARGED!
I'm out!
I can take a US Postal money order and simply cash it at a US Post Office (I never knew you could do that until earlier this year:eek:), no bank/s required.Testing
