WHARFEDALE DELTA 50. has anyone out there heard these speakers? :-)

Definitely have not. Wharfedale is a British company isn't it? I know they've made solid equipment for decades, used to see them in old audio hi-fi magazines. These may be part of their pro audio line. They sure look pretty:cheesygrin:.

I think Warfs are German...could be wrong though...had a pair in the very early 70's...solid maple cabinetry..lattice fronts,gutsy speakers,used em till the woofs wore out..dude bought em from me just for the wood. Those don't look too vintage to me,built out of composite materials. Just looking at em they should sound ok though.

i think they were made in the 80's. can't find much info about them.

Delta 50's; 8" woofer 3/4" tweeter made from 88-90 and retailed for $350. Wharfdale is indeed a British manufacturer.

Wharfedale goes back a lot further than that (80's). Some of the real early offerings featured baffles that you could fill with sand or shot to minimize cabinet resonance.

There's a lot of info on wharfedales on the *karma.org website. And a pretty hardy fanboy club of their vintage lines from the early 60s and on up.
The are still in production making B&W alike speakers I believe. I haven't heard any of their modern offerings.
